What made you want a career as a financial advisor?
I like to help people and I like to work with numbers. I realized early in life that I wasn’t afraid of making tough financial decisions and that many people are. Helping clients envision and realize their financial life goals is something I find personally gratifying. I enjoy coming to work every day to help others fulfill their dreams of financial freedom. This deep sense of satisfaction is what keeps me coming back day after day, even after 25 years.
What do you like best about being part of the Signature Wealth family?
It really is a family. When I joined Signature in 2015, it immediately felt like home. Everyone here is focused on the success of our clients not just because that’s the business we’re in, but because that’s who we are. As coworkers, we work together, play together, and share in each other’s lives. As a family, we genuinely care about each and every client and helping them achieve financial peace of mind. We couldn’t exist as a business, nor would we want to, without each other.
How do you want your clients to view their wealth?
I believe there is a healthy and unhealthy way to view wealth. I want my clients to have a healthy perspective of their wealth. My grandmother used to say that money should be used as a tool, not a club. I have learned over time that money in and of itself doesn’t solve any problems or create happiness; sometimes it does quite the opposite. The best way to view wealth is simply as a means to an end – a tool to help achieve your goals in life. When properly managed, wealth is a catalyst for freedom, allowing you to live life to the fullest, help others in need, and act responsibly to help make this world a better place.
What are your biggest accomplishments?
I was proud to be acknowledged by the Pittsburgh Business Times as one of the top 25 Women in Business in 2013. I shared the stage with 24 other highly respected and accomplished professionals in the Pittsburgh Region. I was nominated by the top executives in my previous company and accepted the award while I was six months pregnant with my second child. (On a personal level, my greatest accomplishments are my two beautiful and witty children.) It was truly an honor to be honored by those with whom I worked for over 20 years.
What do you love to do outside of work?
I love to travel to beautiful places and see beautiful things. I love to walk on the beach, hike in the mountains, and visit foreign countries. There is so much to see and learn in the world, and we limit ourselves when we remove the sense of adventure from our lives. When I was seven years old, my mother and her best friend, Betsy, planned a six-week, cross-country trip with my two siblings and Betsy’s three children. Two mothers and six children traveled in a wood-paneled station wagon to see some of our nation’s treasures–from the St. Louis Arch to Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone National Park, and Wall Drug (if you’ve been there, you know what I’m talking about). Although I may not have known it at the time, that one summer trip gave me a great appreciation for this beautiful country of ours, and the confidence to get outside of my comfort zone and experience new things. As an adult I continue to explore new places and enjoy new things whether I’m travelling for business or for pleasure.
What are you passionate about in your personal life?
I am an avid volunteer. I am passionate about donating my time and energy (and yes, money) to help those less fortunate. I also work tirelessly to teach my children to do the same. I have traveled internationally to help the most vulnerable population in the former Soviet Union and participated in local food drives to ensure no one goes hungry in my own community. My husband and I have volunteered through Habitat for Humanity to build low-income housing and through the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh to help patients at the Veteran’s Affairs long-term care facility attend Christmas Mass. There is nothing more fulfilling to me than helping those less fortunate and making the world a better place for us all.
What is your most memorable travel experience?
In 1990 I spent a semester studying abroad at Tel Aviv University. The program was structured with four days of classroom study followed by a three-day weekend to explore the region. The world was truly my classroom that semester. One weekend, I joined a group of students and went rock repelling in the Judean Desert. It was both the most frightening and exhilarating experience of my life.
The Judean Desert is bordered by the Mountains of Judea to the west and by the Dead Sea to the east. It is considered a relatively small desert, but it contains many fascinating nature reserves, historic sites, monasteries, and primeval panoramas that make it an exciting and unique place to visit. The Judean desert is full of breathtaking views that are constantly changing. Mountains, cliffs, and chalk hills stand alongside plateaus, riverbeds, and deep canyons. The width and breadth of the desert is crossed by several rivers that have created canyons up to 500 meters (1,640 feet) deep.
Rappelling down some of these canyons I felt like I was walking through time, and to some extent I was. It’s something I will never forget.

What made you want a career in finance?
I didn’t always want a career in finance. My undergraduate and graduate degrees are both in higher education. I really enjoy educating people and helping them achieve success. I have the opportunity to do that every day at Signature when I work with our clients to help them manage their assets and simplify their lives.
What do you like best about being part of the Signature Wealth family?
There is a strong sense of camaraderie between the employees here at Signature. We truly care about one another, help each other, and work together to help ourselves and our firm become the best we can be.
What are your biggest accomplishments?
When I first started, I realized that there was a lot I could bring to the table from a client service and operations standpoint. I have implemented policies and procedures that improve efficiency for the firm. My continued progression at the firm and advancement in my career is something that I am very proud of. I have a clear vision of where my career is headed, and I am excited about the many accomplishments yet to come.
What do you love to do outside of work?
Family time is very important to me. I have a large family and I love spending as much time as possible with my six sisters and twelve nieces and nephews.
What are you passionate about in your personal life?
I try to travel as much as possible. I love experiencing new food, people, cultures, and adventures. I have also taken up performance racing as a hobby.
What is your most memorable travel experience?
Several years ago I traveled to Ireland with my mother and two sisters. Our family heritage is Irish and my mother had always wanted to visit the country. We had an amazing time touring through the towns, learning about our country of origin, and spending time together as a family.

What made you want to pursue a career as a financial advisor?
I actually never saw myself as a financial advisor. I initially took this job because it was an opportunity to work with friends, and a chance to get out of the corporate environment I had been in previously. It was only once I actually started doing the work that I realized how much I loved it, and how well suited it really was for me. I think I am just the right level of math nerd to make staring at stock charts all day long actually thrilling.
What do you like best about being part of the Signature Wealth family?
The people. Hands down, that’s an easy one. I love my coworkers and I love our clients. I’ve been privileged to work with some truly wonderful people during my time here, and I never cease to be impressed by the intelligence, integrity, kindness, and generosity that I get to witness every single day.
How do you want your clients to view their wealth?
I always tell clients that money is a tool, not an end. Your wealth and your portfolio represent options – the ability to live your life and your dreams on your own terms. Managed properly, those tools can serve you throughout your lifetime. If you focus solely on appreciation and accumulation and only care about seeing that bottom line increase, then you’re missing the point. What is truly important is the happiness, freedom, and security that money can provide.
What are your biggest accomplishments?
For a job that often measures success down to the hundredths of a percent, I find that I actually tend to focus on accomplishments that are more abstract in nature. I’m incredibly proud of the efficiency and capability we’ve achieved at Signature, managing large sums of money for hundreds of clients in an appropriate and creative fashion. I’m proud of the way we treat our clients and our employees, and I’m especially proud of the work we do in the community. On a purely personal level, passing the CFA exams and obtaining my designation definitely stands out as one of the most difficult and satisfying things I’ve ever done. It has made me a better advisor and investor.
What do you love to do outside of work?
I am a voracious reader and I love movies. I also love spending time with my family, playing soccer with my son, and maybe even occasionally getting to use the more creative (non-mathematical) parts of my brain.
What are you passionate about in your personal life?
Cooking. I love to cook. A glass of wine, a little olive oil, some fresh vegetables, and a nice cast iron pan is all it takes to make me happy. Well, maybe a little bit of garlic, too…
What is your most memorable travel experience?
My honeymoon: 17 days, seven stops, five countries, and countless memories. Neither my wife nor I had ever been to Europe before, so we decided to go big and see as much as possible in a single trip. In just over two weeks we toured Dublin, London, Paris, Rome, Florence, Venice, and Cinque Terre. It was an incredible journey and one we’ll treasure for a lifetime. I’ve also been fortunate enough to visit Europe a few more times with Marc and we’ve crisscrossed the continent. Most recently we drove through Switzerland and the Alps (magnificent) and caught a U2 show at the Olympic stadium in Barcelona.

What made you want to pursue a career as a financial advisor?
I fell in love with financial planning during my internship with Scott’s father, Stephen, while I was in college. I loved that this career provided the opportunity to help individuals achieve their goals and dreams and that each client I work with is unique.
What do you like best about being part of the Signature Wealth family?
It truly is a family here at Signature and we’re constantly sharing ideas to make each other better. Everyone’s voice will be heard when it comes time to make team-related decisions and that is important to me.
How do you want your clients to view their wealth?
As they see fit…that is their personal decision. My role is to make the most appropriate recommendations based on their specific goals for the assets they have and will have in the future, implement the recommendations the client is comfortable with, monitor the strategy going forward, and make changes when necessary.
What are your biggest accomplishments?
Building and continuing to build my practice within Signature. The most satisfaction you can receive in this industry is a heartfelt thank you from clients. That’s truly what I seek and cherish most on a daily basis.
What do you love to do outside of work?
Spend time with family and friends. I love to play golf, travel, and attend live music events during my free time.
What are you passionate about in your personal life?
Surrounding myself with family and friends…that’s what my family and I do whenever we can. I really enjoy exploring new cities and traveling whenever possible. I especially enjoy visiting museums and art galleries, as well as experiencing live music whether it’s in an arena or small club somewhere.
What is your most memorable travel experience?
There are many. Either Maui, San Francisco, or one of my many trips to New York City.

What do you like best about being a part of the Signature Wealth family?
The camaraderie and teamwork in the firm’s culture is really a positive experience for team members and will translate in a positive way for our clients.
How do you want clients to view their wealth?
Building wealth and distributing wealth for personal needs and/or personal causes is a marathon, not a sprint.
On a professional level, what are your biggest accomplishments?
I would say starting my own business, Marbury Wealth Management, over 20 years ago. My wife had a successful event planning business when we were married, and it allowed me to take that risk, leave my senior position at Arthur Andersen in the Private Wealth Group in 2000, and begin my own firm.
What do you love to do outside of work?
Personally, I enjoy golfing as an outside activity. I also have enjoyed going to my children’s activities with Maureen over the last decade, but they will both be in college this fall.
What are you passionate about in your personal life?
I love to laugh and see my wife, Maureen, and my 18-year-old twins, Aidan and Sophia, happy.
What is your most memorable travel experience?
Traveling to South Africa, definitely.

What made you want to pursue a career as a financial advisor?
I did not seek a career as an advisor. After spending some time in the industry as a marketing consultant early on—20 years ago at this point, I realized how rewarding an advisor’s job could be. Everyone has seen the commercials on television that depict the financial advisor as a surrogate family member of his or her clientele; while this is obvious marketing, it is also very true. I get to have a real impact on real people every day.
What do you like best about being part of the Signature Wealth family?
We have worked so hard to grow this family from a single-advisor office two decades ago to where we are today. But just adding team members was not the only objective. Our goal was, and will continue to be, to create a culture where everyone can look forward to coming to the office, feel great about the work we do for our clients, and know that the people with whom they spend the most time care deeply about them. Of course we remain professional, but we also encourage the growth of this family atmosphere.
How do you want your clients to view their wealth?
Freedom of choice.
What are your biggest accomplishments?
I am proud of our entire team’s commitment to continued education, certainly. The credentials that I maintain and that my team has earned are very important in both differentiating our firm from others and instilling the confidence with our clientele that we actually know what we’re doing! I would also acknowledge that whatever my role has been in building Signature’s reputation in the community is very meaningful to me. However, if I had to choose just one, as cliché as it may be, my biggest accomplishment will always, always be the continue validation from my clients who experience personal challenges and rely on me to carry them through.
What do you love to do outside of work?
There’s an outside of work? I’m joking, of course, but one of the great things about owning a practice is that pretty much everything is somehow connected to Signature. Most business owners will relate to this.
My family and I spend quite a bit of time out west. We love to take advantage of all the outdoor activities that Rocky Mountains afford.
In 2016, I began high performance racing as a member of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) and Audi Club of North America. The sport challenges me physically and mentally in a way that is distinctly unique from Signature or my other business endeavors. I also have begun off-roading as a member of the Pittsburgh Jeep Club. Both driving experiences have proven addictive!
What are you passionate about in your personal life?
Besides my family, of course, my passion is Signature. Again, I think that business owners can relate to me caring for this firm as if it were another child, really. But since I know that this question is supposed be more “personal”, I believe very strongly in creating deep and lasting friendships. To me, one of the most important meanings of life is to have a positive impact on people. I strive every single day to do so.
What is your most memorable travel experience?
There are two answers to this: multiple cross-country US trips with my family AND multiple cross-continent European trips with Aaron.
I am so proud to have been able to provide the opportunity several times for my family and I to drive across this country and experience the unbelievable landscape, immerse ourselves in the diverse cultures that exist just next door and thousands of miles away, and take the time to really be with one another, and together. All the destination vacations pale in comparison to the experience of slowly making your way from one side of the United States to the other. I really mean this.
I have also been fortunate to be able to drive across Europe with one of my best friends and my business partner, Aaron. In fact, we’ve done this a few times. I love to drive, and I love to see new places, so this seemed to be a perfect vacation. Europe is amazing in its own right, of course…but unlike my cross-country trips in the US, there are fascinating challenges to the abrupt changes in language and culture with which to contend.

What made you want to pursue a career as a financial advisor?
I was at IU studying to become a psychologist. My father, founder of SFP, suggested I meet with one of his clients who was a practicing psychologist. She asked me what attracted me to the field and I told her that I wanted to be able to have my own practice, I wanted flexibility in my schedule and most importantly, I wanted to be able to help people. She looked at me and said “that is exactly what your father has done for me”. The realization of the extent to which you can help people as a Financial Advisor propelled me into the career and I have never regretted the change of direction.
What do you like best about being part of the Signature Wealth family?
It started as my father’s baby and now I feel that it is mine, along with my partners. Many of our clients have been with us for multiple decades and I truly care about them and their families. Also importantly, our staff are people that I spend a lot of time with and care deeply about. The word family is the correct word for both our clients and our staff. So to answer the questions simply, the relationships are my favorite part of Signature.
How do you want your clients to view their wealth?
As freedom. Building wealth certainly does not buy happiness, but it does provide you with a lot of choices. Do I want to retire now or not? Do I want to travel the world? Do I want to move to a new home or buy a vacation home? All of these questions are easier to answer when one has accumulated wealth.
What are your biggest accomplishments?
Receiving the Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy designation. Outside of Signature, my passion is volunteering for worthy non-profit organizations. The CAP designation allows me to marry my two passions together into one fulfilling career.
What do you love to do outside of work?
Besides charity work that I already mentioned, I love to travel. The more exotic the locale the more interested I am in going there. I love traveling because I love people and I love to be able to immerse myself into other cultures as much as possible and learn how people live. Traveling has both inspired me and it has humbled me. In fact, it was my trip to Moldova in the Former Soviet Union that inspired the philanthropic path that I am currently on.
What are you passionate about in your personal life?
Helping others. In most of my charitable endeavors, I like to focus my energy on helping those that need it the most. Those who find themselves without or at risk of losing their home, who are insecure about their food needs or their medical care. I am also passionate about my wonderful family. I am blessed to have two young kids and an incredible wife. I love to spend quality time with them. I work a lot of hours during the week and I try to make up for that by being fully present and there during the weekends.
What is your most memorable travel experience?
For my honeymoon, Becca and I went to Kenya. I will never forget our first night out in the open Savannah. We took a Jeep ride out to the middle of nowhere. On the way we saw lions and elephants. We got out and made a campfire and poured a glass of wine while we watched an ostrich charge from 100 yards away from where we stood to about 10 feet from us where it proceeded to jump up and down on a chair. It was one of the most amazing things that I ever remember seeing.

What made you want a career as a financial advisor?
The idea of interacting with people on a daily basis, and truly making an impact on their lives was extremely appealing to me. As a financial advisor, you are able to be involved within so many aspects of your client’s lives, and it makes for an incredibly rewarding experience.
What do you like best about being part of the Signature Wealth family?
Signature offers a very good support system, so between all of us there is never a problem that we can’t find a solution to. When brainstorming solutions to client issues, it is always helpful to have other experienced, knowledgeable professionals to bounce ideas off of, and with whom to discuss solutions.
How do you want your clients to view their wealth?
Clients should view their wealth as a means to create flexibility. It is a tool that they have worked extremely hard to forge, and our job is to figure out how best to use that tool to accomplish their goals.
What are your biggest accomplishments?
I am very proud of my various education and certification accomplishments. By putting myself through law school, business school, and obtaining my CFP® designation, I have put myself in a position to offer true expertise on a variety of different topics. The time and work involved in achieving this is something I am very proud of.
What do you love to do outside of work?
When I’m not at work I try to relax and decompress. This mostly entails spending time with friends. I also enjoy traveling as much as I can. I used to perform stand-up comedy, so I still have a soft spot in my heart for that, and will occasionally find myself getting back on stage and performing.
What are you passionate about in your personal life?
I’m constantly trying to improve myself in some way. Whether it’s learning a new language or skill, I constantly strive to make myself better.
What is your most memorable travel experience?
In 2012 I visited Europe for the first time. While I had different geographical destinations planned, I did not have a pre-set agenda for what to do in any of the locations. I was able to experience the cities on my terms at my own pace, and for the first time got an idea of another culture.

Scott joined the Signature Wealth family in early 2021 as a Partner through a merger with Marbury Wealth Management, a firm he established after leaving a senior position at Arthur Andersen in the Private Wealth Group in 2000.
During college, Scott gravitated to economics and finance and had several internships in the field of finance, earning his BS in Economics and Minor in Mathematics from Allegheny College. He earned the CFP® designation in 1993, and added the CAP® (Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy) in 2015, intent on helping others ensure their legacy and maximizing the impact of philanthropy in his community to create a better place to live for generations to come.
Scott leverages 32 years of experience in the industry to help bring a sense of financial “peace” to his clients. After learning what concerns keep them up at night, he analyzes the issues, develops comprehensive strategies, and implements action items to set a course towards their goals. Having learned from great mentors and with decades of experience working with a diverse clientele of private business owners, physicians, corporate executives, charitable foundations, and many others, Scott is uniquely qualified to address a wide range of financial concerns and goals.

I am proud of being successful in the financial services industry, believe I have provided help and support to my clients and their families over the years, and plan to continue to help my clients for as long as I am able.

A Conversation with Marc

Failures and mistakes happen but they don’t define you. It only matters how you respond to the situation.

Reading! Each year I have a goal of reading 30-50 books. I also found a passion for baking during the pandemic after binging the Great British Baking Show.
What is your most memorable travel experience?
In 2002 I traveled to Greece after graduating from high school and spent two weeks doing a tour of the mainland and islands with my grandparents. At the time, I wanted to be an archeologist, so touring the ancient ruins of Athens, Delphi, and Olympia was a mind-blowing experience.

What did you do before Signature/how did you get your start here?
Prior to joining Signature, I worked at BNY Mellon, where I began my career in Corporate Trust. Over time, I transitioned into client services, supporting several of the firm’s boutique investment managers — including Mellon Capital Management, Mellon, and most recently, Newton Investment Management. This experience has equipped me with a strong foundation to serve Signature’s clients with insight and dedication.
What is your favorite part of your job/this industry so far?
What I enjoy most about this industry is its constant evolution — no two days are ever the same. I appreciate the challenge of developing innovative and thoughtful solutions to meet and exceed client expectations. It keeps the work dynamic and engaging, and I look forward to the opportunities each day presents.
What are your passions outside of work?
Outside of work, I’m a proud and busy father. Much of my time is spent supporting my children in their activities — including softball, cheer, and football. When time allows, I enjoy being outdoors, whether it’s hiking, camping, or simply spending time in nature.

Jacob M. Blair, FPQP®
Financial Planning Specialist II
Jake joined the Signature Wealth team in July 2022 and leads the client services team as Senior Client Service Specialist. Forging close relationships with the clients he serves has allowed him to watch them thrive in their careers and retirements, an experience that brings Jake both pride and joy.
Jake was drawn to this industry out of a desire to help people (and his fear of blood and needles discouraged him from pursuing medicine). For Jake, onboarding a new client presents an opportunity to forge a relationship and see goals begin to become reality. His combination of education and experience make him a true asset to the Signature family, and he is constantly working to help clients understand the complex financial situations that can arise in today’s world.
A Pittsburgh native, Jake attended the California University of Pennsylvania (now Pennsylvania Western University) where he received his degree in business and led his club hockey team to national tournaments every year.
When he isn’t working, Jake stays active playing in a recreational hockey league and exploring his home city with his mini Aussie doodles, Ollie and Colby.

What made you want to pursue your career?
I’ve always wanted a job that would let me help people in some way. When I was young, I thought I would end up being a doctor. As I got older and saw how important financial independence is to a person’s success, it felt like the pieces came together. I like being able to play even a small role in reaching that independence for our clients.
What do you feel is your greatest accomplishment?
Graduating from college was a huge accomplishment for me. I really had to dedicate myself to time management because while I was getting my degree, I was also playing sports. My club hockey team won our division each year that I played, which was also pretty exciting.
What is your most memorable travel experience?
I took a cruise to Alaska with my entire family—I’m talking aunts, uncles, grandparents, cousins. The majority of the ship’s passengers were probably related to me. It’s a really special memory because it was one of the few times we all got together and spent a considerable about of time as a family. Plus, I got to zipline through a jungle which was very fun.

Associate Advisor & Wealth Planning Lead
Joining the Signature Wealth family as an Assistant Portfolio Manager in September 2020, Jay Kamon brings with him a wealth of knowledge, skills, and experience in finding creative solutions to complex situations. With a deeply analytical mind, Jay was drawn to the financial planning industry as a way to use those skills to make a difference in society.
Jay holds a Master of Investment Management and Financial Analysis degree from Creighton University. Originally from Pittsburgh, and after a 9-year hiatus on active duty, he was happy to return to the area and begin his career in the financial services industry.
Having come into the profession a little later in life, Jay understands what it is like to work with a financial planner and have apprehensions regarding investments as a client, a point of view which strengthens his ability to conceptualize and address client concerns.
His favorite part of the job next to the people – clients and co-workers alike – is the work’s analytical nature. As someone who loves researching anything and everything, his days are spent knee-deep in thought-provoking endeavors.
Jay is married and has two wonderful dogs, and while he’s still analyzing the question of what it is that makes him unique, it’s already pretty clear to the rest of us.

Originally from Rochester, NY, he now resides in the North Hills and has fully embraced the Penguins and Pirates as his favorite teams.

What did you do before Signature/how did you get your start here?
I actually interned with Signature during my Junior and Senior years of college at Duquesne. It was my first experience working in the finance industry and I truly enjoyed the nature of the work and how close and connected everyone who works here is. Upon graduating from college I decided to try some new experiences in finance but ultimately realized private wealth management is where I wanted to be and I couldn’t be happier to be back with Signature.
Why did you want to go into this field?
I wanted to go into this field primarily to have the opportunity to help other people. My mother was a speech pathologist and my father a physical therapist, so I was raised in a family where taking care of others was very important.
What is your most memorable travel experience?
My most memorable travel experience was studying abroad in Rome, Italy during my Sophomore year of college. I studied there for three months and was able to see so much of Italy including Tuscany, Florence, Venice, the Amalfi Coast, and Sicily. I also was able to travel to Barcelona and the Netherlands during my fall break. It was an incredible experience and I look forward to visiting Italy again.

When I’m not at work, you’ll find me in the kitchen trying out a new recipe I found on TikTok.
